OK, the Republicans are saying they'd love to vote for unemployment benefits, but those doggone Spendocrats just won't cut spending to pay for it because their secret evil plan is to drive up taxes because taxes are like heroin to us.
And the Dems are reading Krugman (who, unlike any Repub member of Congress, has a Nobel Fucking Prize in Economics), and rightly concluding that however right balancing the budget might be in normal times, right now doing so would be 1937 all over again.
